Mysterious Pluto and Charon

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Pluto and its moon Charon remain somewhat mysterious, as no spacecraft has yet flown past them. The Hubble Space Telescope has directly imaged them, and astronomers have also tracked brightness changes as they eclipse each other. These observations allowed the creation of surface maps, showing the faces of Pluto and Charon that always face each other.
