Mimas: Small Moon with a Big Crater
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Mimas is a small moon of Saturn, mostly made of water ice with some rock. It has a remarkably large impact crater, named Herschel, after its discoverer, William Herschel. If the impact had been much stronger, it would have destroyed the entire moon. Mimas' low gravity is just enough to pull it into a sphere, but weak enough to allow such a prominent surface feature.
