Hydrogen Blob N88A in the Small Magellanic Cloud

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

N88A is a bright blob of hydrogen gas, only three light years across, in the Small Magellanic Cloud. It hides hot young stars within its core, which ionize the hydrogen atoms, causing them to emit light. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this in false-color, showing the characteristic H-alpha emission.
