X-Ray Stars Of Orion
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Great Nebula of Orion is the closest large stellar nursery to Earth, about 1500 light-years away. This Chandra X-ray image shows the massive stars of the Trapezium cluster, which power much of the nebula's visible glow. The sheer number of other stars visible in X-rays indicates the region is teeming with young, energetic stars.
