M100 is a spiral galaxy similar to our own Milky Way, with well-defined spiral arms. It is one of the brightest members of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies, located 56 million light-years away in Coma Berenices. This image of its central region was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
