Venus' Evening Loop

NASA APOD · Tunc Tezel
COSMIC MESSAGE

From September 2000 to March 2001, astronomer Tunc Tezel photographed Venus as it moved through the evening sky. All pictures were taken from the Middle East Technical University campus in Ankara, Turkey, when the Sun was 7 degrees below the horizon. This composite image shows Venus' looping path, a result of Earth's and Venus's orbital motions around the Sun.
