Moon Over Mongolia
NASA APOD · Olivier Staiger
COSMIC MESSAGE
A young Moon shines over Ulaan-Baatar, Mongolia. The thin sunlit crescent is about 2 days old, and the rest of the Moon is visible due to earthshine. That is sunlight reflected from the Earth to the Moon. Just below the Moon, bright Saturn shines through the clouds.
