NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Centaurus A is the closest active galaxy to Earth, about 10 million light-years away. This composite image combines an optical picture of Cen A with radio emission lobes and an infrared image from the ISO satellite. The infrared data maps out dust in what appears to be a barred spiral galaxy. This inner galaxy is about the size of the Milky Way.
