This close-up from the Hubble Space Telescope shows the head of the Cone Nebula, a towering pillar of gas and dust. It is a stellar nursery, where strong winds from newborn stars carve dramatic shapes into the surrounding clouds. The Cone Nebula is about 2,500 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. The entire cone is about seven light-years long.
