COSMIC MESSAGE

On March 13, a bright moon created this halo, seen from Caledon, Ontario. The halo forms when moonlight refracts through six-sided ice crystals in high-altitude clouds. Within the halo, you can also see Jupiter and the stars Procyon, Castor, and Pollux.
