Endurance Crater on Mars
This image shows the interior of Endurance Crater on Mars, currently being investigated by the Opportunity rover. The crater walls reveal layers of light-colored rock that may hold clues about Mars's ancient watery past. Much of this interesting rock type is on the crater walls, which might be challenging for the rover to access. The Opportunity rover has been exploring this region for evidence of past water.
