IC 1805: Light from the Heart

COSMIC MESSAGE

IC 1805, nicknamed the Heart Nebula, is an emission nebula spanning hundreds of light-years. It is about 7,500 light-years away and is a region where stars are born. This deep telescopic image reveals glowing interstellar gas and dark dust clouds. The colors in such images are often enhanced to show details our eyes cannot perceive.
