Moon Mountains Magnified during Ring of Fire Eclipse

The dark streaks in this solar eclipse image are reversed shadows of lunar mountains. The Moon was too far from Earth to completely block the Sun, creating a 'ring of fire.' The central image, from Xiamen, China, shows the Moon directly in front of the Sun. The images at the ends show sunlight streaming through lunar valleys.
