Galaxy NGC 1275, the central galaxy of the Perseus Cluster, is surrounded by unusual gas filaments. The image shows these filaments in a specific color of light emitted by hydrogen. NGC 1275 appears to be undergoing a collision between two galaxies. The galaxy and cluster are also strong emitters of X-rays.
