COSMIC MESSAGE
Fantastic shapes of cosmic clouds fill the central region of the Heart Nebula, IC 1805. These clouds are sculpted by stellar winds and radiation from hot, massive stars in the young star cluster Melotte 15. This view spans about 15 light-years, showing glowing atomic gas and dark dust clouds silhouetted against it. The cluster stars are only about 1.5 million years old.
