The Rho Ophiuchi clouds glow with many colors, revealing different processes. Blue regions reflect light from nearby stars, much like Earth's sky. Red and yellow areas emit light from atomic and molecular gas, energized by ultraviolet light from hot, blue stars. This star-forming region in Ophiuchus is one of the closest to Earth.
