This dark pit on Mars, about 150 meters across, was captured by the HiRISE instrument on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. It lacks the raised rims of an impact crater. Infrared images suggest it might be a skylight into a lava tube, a common volcanic feature on Earth.
