Comet McNaught Over Chile
NASA APOD · Stphane Guisard
COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet McNaught was captured above Chile one year ago, dominating the left side of this image. It developed a long and unusual dust tail that dazzled Southern Hemisphere observers. From this vantage point in the Andes Mountains, one looks up toward Comet McNaught. It was perhaps the most photogenic comet of its time.
