Mercury's Horizon from MESSENGER

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The MESSENGER spacecraft captured this view of Mercury's limb during its first flyby. From about 1.5 Earth diameters away, many craters are visible on the hot, barren planet. These craters appear more shallow than similar ones on the Moon, partly due to Mercury's higher gravity.
