The Pinwheel Galaxy, M101, is a large spiral galaxy almost twice the size of our Milky Way. The Spitzer Space Telescope captured this view in infrared, showing starlight in blue hues and the warm dust where new stars are forming in red. It sits about 21 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
