NGC 604 is a giant stellar nursery in the spiral galaxy M33, about 3 million light-years away. It is 1,300 light-years across, nearly 100 times the size of the Orion Nebula. This composite image combines X-ray data from the Chandra Observatory, shown in blue, with optical data from Hubble. NGC 604 is second in size only to 30 Doradus among star-forming regions in the Local Group of galaxies.
