COSMIC MESSAGE

On February 23rd, bright planet Saturn and Comet Lulin were both near opposition in the constellation Leo. They were opposite the Sun in Earth's sky and passed within only two degrees of each other. Comet Lulin was also near its closest approach to Earth, about sixty-one million kilometers away. It swept rapidly across the background of stars.
