Orange Sun Oozing
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Sun's surface is a dynamic place, constantly changing. This time-lapse movie, centered on Sunspot 875, shows the photosphere oozing over a single hour. Thousands of granules, each the size of an Earth continent, cover the surface, along with darker sunspots. The Vacuum Tower Telescope in the Canary Islands captured these details using adaptive optics.
