The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster in the upper right, glowing blue. It contains over 3,000 stars and is about 400 light-years away. Surrounding the stars is a reflection nebula of fine dust. On the lower left, the California Nebula shines red, a vast emission nebula in the constellation Perseus.
