Gargoyles on Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, are silhouetted against a partial solar eclipse. This telephoto shot captures the dramatic silhouette of a New Moon against the bright solar disk. The eclipse reached its maximum phase at about 23 percent, high in the Parisian sky. This event occurred near the end of the first eclipse season of 2025.
