NASA APOD · Terry Cuttle
COSMIC MESSAGE

During the August 2008 total solar eclipse, this dramatic skyscape was recorded above the Jiayuguan Fort along the Great Wall of China. The Moon's silhouette, surrounded by a glistening solar corona, hangs above the fort. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and the bright star Regulus were also visible, lined up along the ecliptic plane.
