M94 is a spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici, about 15 million light-years away. This face-on galaxy is 30,000 light-years across. It has prominent dust lanes, a bright nucleus, and a bluish ring of young, massive stars. These stars are likely less than 10 million years old, indicating a recent burst of star formation.
