NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper, aboard India's Chandrayaan-1 lunar orbiter, has discovered water on the Moon's surface. The instrument detected a specific color of light absorption, previously associated only with water, in parts of the lunar surface. Scientists are now working to determine the amount and form of this water. This discovery changes our understanding of the Moon's composition.
