What is the matter with this cluster of galaxies? To understand the forms of matter in the Abell 1689 cluster, deep images from the Hubble Space Telescope and computer modeling are needed. Almost every fuzzy yellow patch is an entire galaxy. Many background galaxies are magnified and distorted into long arcs by the cluster's gravitational lensing.
