NASA APOD · Dieter Willasch (Astro-Cabinet)
COSMIC MESSAGE

This open cluster, NGC 4755, is known as The Jewel Box because of its variety of star colors. It contains just over 100 stars, including a bright red supergiant contrasted against many blue stars. The cluster is about 10 million years old and sits 6,400 light-years away in the constellation Crux. The light we see from it began its journey long ago.
