What drives auroras on Saturn? To find out, scientists used hundreds of infrared images from the Cassini spacecraft. They found that Saturnian auroras change with the angle of the Sun and as the planet rotates. Some changes are also linked to waves in Saturn's magnetosphere, likely caused by its moons.
