COSMIC MESSAGE

On December 21, the solstice occurs at 23:38 Universal Time. The Sun reaches its southernmost declination in Earth's sky. This marks the beginning of winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the south. From northern latitudes, the Sun makes its lowest arc through the sky, resulting in the shortest day between sunrise and sunset.
