Hickson 44 in Leo

COSMIC MESSAGE

Hickson 44 is a compact group of four galaxies in Leo, about 100 million light-years away. The two central spiral galaxies are NGC 3190, seen edge-on with warped dust lanes, and the S-shaped NGC 3187. This group, identified by astronomer Paul Hickson, also includes two elliptical galaxies.
