IC 1805: The Heart Nebula in HDR

NASA APOD · Daniel Verloop (Beursacademie)
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, glows red due to emission from its most prominent element, hydrogen. A small cluster of stars near the nebula's center powers this glow and creates its overall heart shape. This high-dynamic-range close-up, spanning about 30 light-years, reveals many of these massive stars, some nearly 50 times the mass of our Sun.
