Anticrepuscular Rays Over Wyoming
NASA APOD · Nate Cassell
COSMIC MESSAGE
These are anticrepuscular rays, seen over Wyoming as the sun sets. They are parallel rays of sunlight that appear to converge opposite the sun due to perspective. This optical effect occurs when sunlight passes through breaks in clouds, similar to crepuscular rays but viewed from a different angle.
