This floating ring is part of the Sombrero Galaxy, one of the largest galaxies in the Virgo Cluster. The dark dust band that obscures the galaxy in optical light glows brightly in infrared. This image, from the Spitzer Space Telescope, shows the infrared glow in false-color, superposed on a Hubble image.
