NASA APOD · Jiajie Zhang
COSMIC MESSAGE

Comet Lovejoy, a visitor from the outer solar system, is captured here above the Great Wall of China. The comet, officially C/2013 R1, was visible in early 2014 as it headed back out into space. It appeared among the stars of Ophiuchus, near the bright star Rasalhague. Comets are relics from the solar system's formation, made of ice and dust.
