Ou4: A Giant Squid Nebula

This faint, giant squid-shaped nebula, Ou4, was recently discovered by a French astro-imager. It spans about two and a half full moons in the constellation Cepheus. The image, a mosaic from the 2.5 meter Isaac Newton Telescope, shows its bipolar shape. This is consistent with a planetary nebula, the gas shroud of a dying sun-like star.
