Alicante Beach Moonrise

COSMIC MESSAGE

A full moon rises over Alicante Beach in Spain, its light reflecting on the Mediterranean Sea. This was a "supermoon," meaning the moon was near its perigee, the closest point in its orbit to Earth. When the moon is low on the horizon, its light passes through more of Earth's atmosphere, making it appear reddish. This effect is similar to how the sun looks red at sunrise or sunset.
