Cave with Aurora Skylight

An astrophotographer captured the aurora from inside the kilometer-long Raufarhólshellir lava cave in Iceland. The image is a composite of several exposures: three for different parts of the cave, illuminated by a strobe, and a deep exposure of the sky to record the faint aurora. This unique perspective shows the northern lights through natural skylights in the 4,600-year-old lava tube, creating a fascinating juxtaposition of underground and celestial phenomena.
