Chamaeleon Dark Nebulas

Dark dust clouds in the Chamaeleon constellation show an angular elegance. These nebulae normally block visible light, but in this long exposure, they glow in their own red and near-infrared light, creating a brown hue. The bright blue star Beta Chamaeleontis is visible in the upper right. The dust forms intricate patterns against the background stars.
