COSMIC MESSAGE
M94 is a spiral galaxy with a very bright center, caused by a ring of newly formed stars around its nucleus. Astronomers think an elongated bar of stars rotates within M94, triggering this burst of star formation. The galaxy's outer ring is complex and not fully closed.
