COSMIC MESSAGE
A runaway star lights the Flaming Star Nebula, also called IC 405. This O-type star, AE Aurigae, was likely ejected from a collision of star systems in the Orion Nebula millions of years ago. It now moves rapidly through space, illuminating the gas and dust clouds about 1,500 light-years away in the constellation Auriga.
