A Triple Star is Born

COSMIC MESSAGE
This image from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile shows a triple star system forming within a dusty disk. Two protostars are separated by only 61 AU, with a third 183 AU from the central star. The spiral structure in the disk suggests instability, leading to the birth of multiple stars.
