COSMIC MESSAGE
Mount Etna, one of Earth's largest and most active volcanoes, erupts a spectacular lava plume over a kilometer high. Dangerous molten volcanic bombs fly outwards, and hot lava flows down the volcano's exterior. This mid-March image captures one of the many eruptions Etna has produced over hundreds of thousands of years.
