The July Full Moon, also known as a Thunder Moon, rises over Pisa, Italy, behind its famous Leaning Tower. This telephoto image captures the Moon close to the horizon. Atmospheric layers filter and refract the moonlight, giving it an orange hue. The Leaning Tower has been an iconic landmark since construction began in 1173.
