NASA APOD · Mike O'Day
COSMIC MESSAGE

Omega Centauri is the largest globular cluster in our galaxy, packed with about 10 million stars. Many of these stars are older than our Sun, residing within a volume of only about 150 light-years in diameter. It is the largest and brightest of the 200 or so known globular clusters in the Milky Way's halo. Unlike most clusters, Omega Centauri exhibits different stellar populations with a spread of ages and compositions.
