A Total Eclipse at the End of the World

NASA APOD · Fred Bruenjes (moonglow.net)
COSMIC MESSAGE

In 2003, the Sun, Moon, and two photographers aligned in Antarctica for an unusual total solar eclipse. Even in that extreme location, eclipse chasers ventured near the bottom of the world to witness the Sun's momentary disappearance. This image captures the surreal event from the Antarctic continent.
