COSMIC MESSAGE
An aurora, a great green spiral, arcs over the Icelandic divide in this image. This light show is caused by charged particles from the Sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field. While beautiful, these solar events can be powerful, like the 1859 Carrington Event, which produced widespread auroras and disrupted telegraph systems.
