COSMIC MESSAGE
This reddish dot in NGC 4993 was not there before. It is to the upper left of the galaxy's center. This dot became historically important when it appeared in August, pinpointing the exact location of the gravitational wave event GW170817. This enabled major telescopes to examine the first electromagnetic wave counterpart to a gravitational wave event.
